In-Flight Maneuvers

The in-flight maneuvers area of operation includes the following tasks:

* Level flight * Turns * Climbs * Descents * Stalls * Spins * Recovery from unusual attitudes

The applicant must demonstrate that they can perform these tasks safely and efficiently. They must also be able to maintain the aircraft in a controlled flight path.

Landing and Approach with a Power Loss

The landing and approach with a power loss area of operation includes the following tasks:

* Identifying the symptoms of a power loss * Maintaining the aircraft in a controlled flight path * Landing the aircraft * After landing procedures

The applicant must demonstrate that they can perform these tasks safely and efficiently. They must also be able to maintain the aircraft in a controlled flight path.

Postflight

The postflight area of operation includes the following tasks:

* Securing the aircraft * Debriefing the passengers * Filling out the flight log * Cleaning the aircraft

The applicant must demonstrate that they can perform these tasks safely and efficiently. They must also be able to answer questions about the flight.

Grading

The FAA uses a grading system to evaluate the applicant's performance on the practical test. The grading system is as follows:

* Satisfactory (S) - The applicant demonstrates a high level of proficiency in the task or maneuver. * Marginal (M) - The applicant demonstrates a moderate level of proficiency in the task or maneuver. * Unsatisfactory (U) - The applicant demonstrates an unacceptable level of proficiency in the task or maneuver.

The applicant must receive a satisfactory grade on all of the tasks and maneuvers in order to pass the practical test.
